Lateral Reading and Media Literacy: Helping Students Research Well

Today's students are used to doing everything--from academic research to communicating with friends--online. How can we, as educators, help them figure out which online sources are trustworthy? In this session, we will go through a sample presentation on lateral reading, talk about how to create a spiraled 6-12 media literacy curriculum, and how to connect with classroom teachers around research skills.
